As the November general election approaches, let’s recognize the Superior Court Judge candidate who won the March 2024 primary election! Peter Devencenzi, a San Joaquin County Deputy District Attorney and graduate from the University of the Pacific and McGeorge School of Law, worked long shifts—often 12 to 14 hours—while balancing law school and his early career as a prosecutor in the late 2000s.
Peter was born and raised in San Joaquin County to a 4th-generation farming family that taught him what a strong work ethic looked like. Ever since he became a Deputy District Attorney, he has prosecuted various criminal cases with impartial and fair judgment. As has his wife, Nicole, who has also been a highly intelligent Deputy District Attorney for nearly 10 years.
With diverse experience in both civil and criminal law, Peter is ready to serve the residents of San Joaquin County. His successful legal career ranges from employment law to personal injury, property crimes, and much more. Peter has also worked on cases surrounding San Joaquin County's agricultural community, helping farmers against crime. With over a decade of criminal law experience, he was assigned to many initiatives such as leading the Auto Task Force, Special Operations, Felony Trials, Gang Crimes, and leading the Agricultural Crimes & Auto Theft Task Force, along with various other internships, special operations, and major achievements, which have fully prepared him to serve his community as the next Superior Court Judge.
As a father, Peter is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the youth by focusing on public safety and reducing crime. He has worked on many cases involving gang-related crimes, shootings, homicides, and drug trafficking, all while supporting initiatives that bring stability and safety for our community. Judge-Elect Peter Devencenzi, along with Judge-Elect Katy Jacot, will assume office on January 6, 2025.
Show support as they both prepare to assume office; congratulate them in the comments!
